At Polished Nichols, we’re often asked to sponsor events.
Fundraisers. Networking events. Community festivals.
While we’re grateful for every opportunity, we’ve learned that the most meaningful sponsorships aren’t the ones that offer the biggest logo placement or the largest audience.
They’re the ones that align with our values.
Because to us, sponsorship isn’t about visibility.
It’s about community. It’s about relationships. It’s about showing up for people and causes that matter.
Recently, we had the privilege of sponsoring AJ’s Baseball Bash, a community event created in honor of AJ Orendorff, a young boy whose love of baseball and courageous battle with pediatric brain cancer continues to inspire so many. The event brings families together for a day of baseball, laughter, and community while raising funds to support organizations serving children and families facing pediatric cancer.
For us, saying “yes” wasn’t a business decision.
It was a personal one.
The Orendorff family has been part of our lives for years. They’re dear family friends whose strength, generosity, and commitment to honoring AJ’s legacy have inspired an entire community.
Supporting AJ’s Baseball Bash wasn’t about marketing. It was about standing beside people we care about.
Creating Moments, Not Marketing
When we discussed how we wanted to participate, we knew one thing:
We didn’t want to simply put our logo on a banner and call it a day.
We wanted to create an experience. So instead of focusing on promoting our business, we focused on creating smiles.
Our table quickly became a place where children could take a break between games and simply enjoy being kids.
We filled it with:
- Baseball-themed crafts
- Bubble gum – Double Bubble (of course)
- Orioles hat giveaways
- Baseball slap bracelets
- Temporary tattoos
Throughout the day, we watched children proudly show off their creations, compare bracelets, laugh with friends, and our favorite moment of all, walk around happily chewing bubble gum with absolutely no worries beyond the next baseball game.
It was a beautiful reminder of what childhood should be. Simple. Joyful. Present.
The Best Return on Investment
As business owners, we’re often encouraged to ask: “What’s the return on investment?”
Sometimes the answer isn’t measured in leads, impressions, or website traffic.
Sometimes it’s measured in moments.
A child’s smile. A parent’s thank you. A conversation with a family you’ve known for years.
Watching an entire community rally around a cause bigger than themselves.
Those are the moments that stay with you long after the event is over.
Choosing Partnerships That Reflect Who We Are
The same philosophy guides the clients we choose to work with.
At Polished Nichols, we believe the best partnerships are built on shared values.
We love working with organizations that are improving lives, strengthening communities, advancing innovation, and making a meaningful difference.
Whether it’s helping a nonprofit expand its mission, supporting a growing Maryland business, or celebrating community leaders, we want our work to reflect what matters most to us:
Relationships. Integrity. Service. Community. Purpose.
Those values don’t just shape our work. They shape our decisions.
Polished Takeaway
When you’re deciding whether to sponsor an event, ask yourself:
- Does this align with our values?
- Will our presence make the experience better for someone else?
- Are we showing up because of the exposure—or because we genuinely believe in the mission?
The best sponsorships aren’t measured by the size of your logo.
They’re measured by the impact you make and the memories you help create.
Because at the end of the day, people may not remember who sponsored the event.
But they’ll always remember how you made them feel.
